History

Tennessee Trailers, Inc is the oldest, continuous marine trailer manufacturer in the United States. We’re proud to be a small, family-owned business still making high quality products right here in America. We first introduced our Chattanooga Trailer in 1947 as part of Chattanooga Wheelbarrow Company. Our original trailers, the “Little Jon Boat” (LBJ-950) and “Fisherman’s Friend” (FF) trailers are still in production today. Our Chattanooga Line ran until 1958 when the trailer division was incorporated out of Chattanooga Wheelbarrow Company to form Tennessee Trailers, Inc.

Since 1958, Tennessee Trailers, Inc has been building the finest marine trailers in the world. We’ve evolved with the marine industry to offer a wider range of styles and options than our original line. Today, we offer trailers ranging from 950 lbs to 10,000 lbs carrying capacity for a wide range of boats. We manufacture our frames and parts here in house on the original Chattanooga Wheelbarrow equipment the same way we always have. We are the definition of Old School. Our oldest machine has been operational since 1907. We didn’t become the oldest, continuous marine trailer manufacturer by chance. Our quality is evident in the longevity of our trailers. Many of original trailers from the 1940’s and 50’s are still on the road today.
